Toshiba Qosmio F755-3D320 Glassless 3d is still premature

- The F755 is a glassless 3d gaming laptop that uses parallax barrier display similar to the one found in the Nintendo 3ds, but uses facial tracking technology on its webcamera to allow 1 user to see the 3d effect despite moving their heads, or despite that their eyes are not perpendicular to the screen.
- The F755 is now optimized by Nvidia's 3d graphics drive, which allows you to view 3d pictures, movies, and play 3d games.
- I tried the 3d pictures, movies and games. I used Fujifilm W3 camera (it is a 3d camera; you can search it on Amazon) and uploaded it to the computer.
- I have tested its Blu-ray 3d movies.
- I have tested its 3d games (played Elder Scrolls Skyrim).
- I had it run a very large Adobe Photoshop file while running Norton Virus scanning in the background.
- I use it almost everyday, and was an early adopter.
Pros:
- Excellent for running heavy load applications
- Excellent for running graphic intensive games
- Have web cam and mic
- Sound system is pretty good
- Have 3 slots for USB 2.0, and 1 slot for USB 3.0 (4 in total)
- Energy Star approved (good for the environment!)
- Can modify 3d effects to your needs using X-play
Cons:
- The key board is very flat and does not glow in the dark
- The 3d effects are not as good as the nVidia 3d vision (active shutter lens glasses 3d) and when activated, it slows down gaming significantly. 3d pictures are not as good as nVidia 3d vision either. Overall, Shutter glasses have better resolution, despite its inconveniences.
- Battery life is very short, especially if running on maximum settings (you usually have to tone down the brightness of the screen or use Toshiba's eco mode to last longer, and even then, it is still much too short).
- The interior plastic catches dirt and oil on your hands very easily (even if you wash your hands before use). So either you live with it, or have to clean up constantly.
Closing comments:
An excellent laptop overall, without the 3d technology. As for the 3d technology, I would say that it is still in its premature stage, as the resolution is below that of the Active Shutter Lens. Nevertheless, the
