I was shopping for about 6 weeks for a lighter and smaller notebook for note taking at meetings, and for travel, to replace the netbook I've essentially stopped using. My application load is pretty light: word processing, photo editing, web surfing and so on. No gaming. I saw it before Christmas at Best Buy on special for $699 so I bought the last two they had, the 2nd as a gift. I'm so glad I did. I know that many more of this type of laptop will be released over the next 6 months but I thought at that price I could get started with changing my note taking from paper to keyboard and have the portability I wanted.
Pros: the same as the other reviewers. Backlit keyboard and USB 3.0 a big plus. Also, I have not ever heard the fan. No noise at all.
Starting off the 128 gig SSD was a concern that is was too small, but now I'm thinking it will be fine for my needs.
Cons: My experience is about 6 hours for the battery but maybe the screen is kept too bright. The touchpad is taking some time to adjust to.
