Philips HP6576/50 Satin Perfect Deluxe Epilator A first time Epilator....

I consider my pain tolerance to be pretty high, I've had multiple tatoos and did child birth without an epidural. With that being said there is no pain like that of a slow torturous epilation. I hate to admit, but I am quite a sissy about this. My first night of use with this product did not go so well. The first few pulls were about as painful as they come. And the fact that all you want to do is jerk your hand away from your own leg doesn't help speed up the process. I managed to do a portion of one leg (it's a slow process) because I had to give up in frustration. No tears though, so it must not have been that bad.
Day two was easier, as I think I was more ready for the pain than anything. I spent a good hour or so finishing up some of the rough patches. The knees are the worst as my knees are boney. Keep in mind this is a LONG process, it's not like the quick zip of a razor.
Day three and I was finally able to finish most parts of both legs. I must say, after the initial swelling goes down (see my tips about swelling below) your legs really do feel smoother and look more satiny! My leg hair grows about has fast as my husbands 5'oclock shadow, so I was very excited about the ability to not have to shave my legs every morning (something I feel like I spend a greater part of my week doing).
I have yet to use in this in the bikini area, call me a wimp I know, but I just haven't quite worked up that nerve yet!
As far as swelling, yes there will be some. After first use your legs will look like little raised blotches of skin (where the hair was pulled out), but if you epilate at night before bed and immediately after epilating used a cool washrag to rub down your legs and then moisturize the swelling will be completely gone by morning.
I've yet to see any bleeding while using this product and I haven't yet gotten any skin pulled either. Upon first use I was pretty positive that instead of pulling hair it was pulling skin, but the nice thing about this product is when you pop off the top to clean it you can see all the little hairs in the bottom. This, at least, helped me believe that I wasn't torturing myself for no reason.
The light is excellent in helping see in the darker areas and the directions are awesome. Be sure to follow them and when they say to hold the skin tight this isn't because it makes it easier for the epilator to grab the hairs, actually it DOES help to reduce the pain. I found that the back of my legs was the least painful and the front top of my thighs was the worst.
The tweezers are a bonus!
