HP Envy 14-1260SE Love This Laptop!!

I needed a good, general purpose machine that had decent screen size, powerful graphics for an occasional game, backlit keyboard, and reasonable weight and size. The HP Envy does all of that.
Mine is the Beats edition, purchased from Amazon. For a few extra dollars it came with 6 GB of RAM, and has the Beats red lettering keyboard with red backlighting. I am an amateur astronomer and red is the only color that does not affect your night vision, so this was perfect. The black, rubberized finish on the inside looks and feels very nice. The case is very thin - thinner than my wife's Toshiba laptop. The weight is not too bad - I find it easy to carry and move around.
The screen delivers nice, crisp images. There is some glare bacause it is shiny, but I have come to expect that from most laptops. The keyboard is very easy to type on, and of course, when it is dark, the backlighting makes all the difference. A key turns the backlighting on and off. I like the trackpad - big and easy to use. The left/right buttons are also sensitive to your finger movement, so this takes a bit of getting used to, but in the end works well.
Speaking of keys - unlike some laptops that require you to press the Fn key to access features like screen brightness, volume, etc, the function keys on the top row let you do this without pressing Fn. You press Fn to activate F1, F2, etc.
The sound this laptop delivers is wonderful through the speakers - plenty loud with good quality. I like the slot-type CD/DVD drive - reminds me of an Apple product. One of the top row keys will eject a disk.
Performance is excellent - so far the slower hard drive has not been noticeable. Starcraft II, one of my favorite games, runs very fast with excellent graphics. For standard business applications and web browsing, the Intel integrated graphics chip works fine, at a lower level of power consumption.
One of the controversial issues with this model is battery life. Even at the most stingy power settings (screen brightness down, backlighting off, CPU power low, integrated graphics, etc) , the windows battery meter shows about an hour of time remaining with a full charge. I downloaded some free battery meters and discovered their time estimates were much more accurate. 2-3 hours is probably more realistic. Since I purchased mine in May 2011, it is possible the ba
