By spirestar [December 11, 2011, 5:40 am]The only other review currently regarding this product is somewhat accurate, but it also shows that the other reviewer didn't quite understand what thread count refers to.
This is a very good, solid comforter, but it's a down comforter for less than $200. The stripes are less prominent than shown in the photo, but that's due to lighting and not misrepresentation. This is not the greatest blanket on earth, but it *is* pretty much what is advertised. The seller lets you know it's a 50 oz blanket. That's not very heavy, but it doesn't need to be. Unless you live above the arctic circle or keep your home temp below 60 degrees, I can't imagine a heavier goosedown blanket being desirable. The blanket is very warm without being overly heavy.
The other reviewer is right about the "Siberian Goose down" claim -- it isn't. But it is goose down, and siberian goose down is no better or worse than other goose down. For the life of me, I can't imagine why down from an endangered species would be an advertised perk...be assured, though, that this down is 100% *not* siberian goose down. I'd recommend the seller update the info. The "siberian goose down" bit is a hoax started for who knows what reason that many down comforter sellers claim.

It is similar to a pillow protector, that you put on your pillow, underneath a pillowcase. The duvet protectors prevent the feathers from going all over and also protect your duvet and keep it cleaner (they are super expensive to have cleaned!). Usually they are white and have a zipper closing. I don’t have an answer for why feathers are coming out unless there is even a pin-hole in the comforter itself and they get pushed out.Before my new goose-down, I always had the top of the line polyfill comforters, and I must say at this point I prefer the polyfill (top of the line) comfortor better. (I got both at Bed, Bath & Beyond.) You will never have a problem with feathers, that’s for sure.
